The most important thing of all is the litter box you don’t want your new cat to make a mess around your house or in your indoor plants. Placing a litter box is important. So you may think about where to place a litter box? Well, I suggest that a litter box should be in a quiet place away from the food area. Cats are noise sensitive so litter boxes must be far away from the noisy area as they will get scared easily.

The litter box must be cleaned regularly. Replace the whole sand as often as you can and wash the tank with soap or bleach.

Food area

The food area as mentioned should be away from the litter box and must be hygienic. Make sure you place two bowls one for the food and one for water. You do need to change that several times a day so that it is clean and fresh. Other, wise it can be harmful to your cat.

You can also put an automatic cat feeder so your cat will be fed on a regular time and your cat will get some discipline. You will need healthy food for your cat and make sure you are giving enough to your cat and not too much.

Cat in a bed

Resting area

As cats are noise sensitive placing their resting are in a quiet place where even you don’t visit is important. You can always go for cat beds that are available on market but if you don’t like any of them you can create one. Place a basket or box with enough blankets and cushions.

Cat toys

Play corner

Cats are most energetic during their playtime and when that happens it is necessary to give cats their own space. Having a play corner will separate you from your cat but if you want to bond with them you can always go for interactive cat toys.

Playtime will help establish and strengthen the bond between you two.  Get a scratching cat tree, cat balls, and some fun toys like some teaser toys to keep them entertained.

Cat vet

Find a vet

Knowing a vet is crucial while having a cat. You do need some visits to the vet for health checks and if your cat does not feel well so a vet nearby your house is essential because it will be easily accessible and you don’t have to waste most of your time on the commute.

Cat supplies

Stock of supplies

You will need pet supplies such as food, dishes, a collar, and some delicious treats. In food, there are two basic types wet food and dry food your cat needs both of those. Before you give this to your cat always ask an expert about it.

Make sure you give your cat enough nutritious food and no matter how your cat brags don’t ever give the cat too much food. With that you also need some mats and cleaning supplies to remove stains if your cat sheds a lot then you have to think about it as well and a vacuum cleaner will help you a lot.

Cats do tend to like adventure and outside adventure can be fun but if you are not around it can lead to disaster. Make sure your apartment is escape-proof that means all the doors are locked and windows are closed and cannot be easily opened by any cat through scripting.

Cats sometimes love to climb mosquito nets as it gives them a good grip so make sure they are sturdy.

Pet-proof

As cats are naturally curious and love to climb and go into a different corners, you need to keep in mind small things like a trash can. Make sure your trash can is sealed and cannot be easily accessible by your cat similarly you should always consider sealed food containers to keep them away.

Electric cables should be placed safely as cats can get tangled in them and some cats have a habit of chewing on them so make sure about this little safety measure.

cat plants

Since your cat will be spending most of your time indoors it is okay to have some cat-friendly plants inside your house. Some plants can be harmful if your cats eat them.
